TBS Champion Mercedes Mone Highlights Standout Match at All-Women’s Wrestling Event
Mercedes Mone, currently a top name in All Elite Wrestling, recently praised a match between Maya World and Billie starkz at Metroplex Wrestling’s (MPX) “Who Runs The World” all-women’s event in Texas last month. Mone, known as “The CEO,” made a surprise appearance at the independent show, which was organized by Ring of Honor (ROH) Women’s Champion Athena.
Mone’s support for the event and specific wrestlers underscores her commitment to elevating women’s wrestling. In the latest edition of Mone Mag, Mone described the all-women’s show as “a truly special experience” and stated her dream is to “elevate women’s wrestling.” She wrote, “Being part of events like this is a significant step in that direction.”
The match between Billie Starkz, a former ROH Women’s Television Champion, and maya World, a former Reality of Wrestling Women’s Tag team Champion, notably impressed Mone. ”Wow! There’s so much talent out there, and I feel so inspired by all the amazing women wrestlers just waiting to be discovered,” she said. Mone encouraged fans to support independent wrestling shows, noting, “You never know who might be the next big thing!”
Other matches at ”Who Runs The World” included Nyla Rose defeating Charity King, Baby D, and Morgan mercy in a four-way elimination match, and Masha Slamovich winning a three-way bout.
