Lehigh Wrestlers seymour and Brignola Selected for NWCA All-Star Classic
BETHLEHEM, pa. – Lehigh wrestling will be represented at the 2025 NWCA All-Star Classic, as seniors Sheldon Seymour and Max Brignola have been chosen too compete in the prestigious event. The classic is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 1 at 7 p.m.at rutgers’ Jersey Mikes Arena.
Seymour, wrestling at 125 pounds, will face Virginia Tech’s Eddie Ventresca. Brignola, competing at 165 pounds, will take on stanford’s Hunter Garvin.
Seymour achieved All-American status in 2025, finishing with a 22-6 record. He secured an EIWA Championship at 125 and reached the NCAA semifinals, ultimately placing sixth.Currently ranked fifth at 125 by FloWrestling, Seymour will be looking to avenge an 11-4 loss to Ventresca, who is ranked fourth, in last year’s NCAA fifth-place bout.
Brignola, a two-time NCAA qualifier, wrestled unattached last season at 165, compiling a perfect 15-0 record. he previously competed at the NCAA Championships as a true freshman at 149 in 2022 and at 157 in 2024. He is currently ranked seventh at 165, facing off against Garvin, who finished sixth at the 2024 NCAA Championships and is ranked fourth.
Seymour and Brignola are the first Lehigh wrestlers to participate in the NWCA All-Star Classic sence Connor McGonagle won his match at 133 in 2023.
The event will be broadcast on FloWrestling.org, and tickets are available at scarletknights.evenue.net/events/NWCA.This appearance kicks off the Mountain hawks’ season with a weekend in New Jersey, continuing with the Princeton Open on Nov. 2.
