SIOUX CENTRE, IA – Valley City State University libero jaycee Richter added to her remarkable list of accolades Friday, earning a spot on the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) 1st Team All-North Region. The announcement came during the National Tournament in Sioux Center, Iowa.
Richter, a senior from Linton, North Dakota, has been a dominant force for the vikings throughout her career.This regional honor follows being named 1st Team all-Conference and Defender Player of the Year in the Frontier Conference. She recently broke the school’s all-time career digs record during a match against Rocky Mountain College.This season, Richter recorded 623 digs, averaging 6.05 per set.Her career total of 2,084 digs leads all Viking players,and her career average of 5.44 digs per set ranks third in program history. The 623 digs this season are fourth-most in a single season, and her 6.05 digs per set is also fourth-best all-time at VCSU.
Richter was twice recognized for her defensive prowess this season, earning frontier Conference and NAIA Defender of the Week honors for weeks ending October 26th and September 15th.
Beyond her athletic achievements, Richter is also an Academic All-Conference selection, pursuing degrees in Health Sciences and Chemistry.
