Honor Signals design Shift with New 500 Series, Pre-Orders Now Open in China
Beijing, China – Honor has unveiled it’s upcoming 500 series smartphones, initiating pre-orders in China and signaling a notable departure in design language. The new lineup, showcased on official Honor China sales portals, features a strikingly flat display and a distinctive horizontal camera module reminiscent of recent iPhone designs – a move keenly observed by industry analyst Andrea Galeazzi.
while an official launch date remains unconfirmed, the opening of pre-orders indicates a market release is expected within weeks. The 500 series promises significant memory configurations and a fresh aesthetic, though European availability is currently unannounced.
The most immediate visual change is the adoption of a flat display, abandoning the curved edges seen in previous Honor models. This is paired with extremely thin and symmetrical bezels, creating a modern, immersive front panel interrupted only by the front-facing camera.
However, the rear of the device is generating the most discussion. Honor has opted for a horizontal camera module, housing the sensors in a layout differing between the base and Pro models:
* Honor 500 (Base): Features two large circular cutouts for primary sensors, flanked by two smaller openings for the LED flash and a supporting sensor.
* Honor 500 Pro: Boasts three prominent circular cutouts, appearing to accommodate a total of four lenses.
Adding to the intrigue is a new physical button located below the power button on the device’s side. early reports suggest this button will be fully customizable by users for quick access to shortcuts or functions.
Honor is also offering generous RAM and storage options:
Honor 500:
* 12GB RAM + 256GB storage
* 12GB RAM + 512GB storage
* 16GB RAM + 512GB storage
Honor 500 Pro:
* 12GB RAM + 256GB storage
* 12GB RAM + 512GB storage
* 16GB RAM + 512GB storage
* 16GB RAM + 1TB storage (Pro exclusive)
The 500 series will be available in four colorways: Moonlight Silver, Obsidian Black, Starlight Powder, and Aquamarine.
Currently, pre-orders are exclusive to the official Honor China website. The company has not yet provided details regarding a potential rollout to European markets.
