Norwegian Healthcare Worker Wins Silver at European Championships
Herning, Denmark – Twenty-year-old Henrik Solberg Bølgenhaugen, a healthcare worker from Sokna, Norway, secured a silver medal in the healthcare profession at the Occupational European Championship in Herning, Denmark, this weekend. The win marks a notable achievement for both Bølgenhaugen, who works in home service for Ringerike municipality, and the Norwegian team.
Bølgenhaugen competed against athletes from across Europe over three days of intense competition.”It is fantastic that Henrik took home the silver in the health care profession,” said Bjørnar valstad, general manager of Worldskills Norway. “He has worked and trained for too long. There have been very good preparations and he delivered wonderfully well over thes three competition days down here in Denmark.”
in addition to the silver medal, Bølgenhaugen was also awarded a ‘Best of Nation’ medal, recognizing the Norwegian professional team’s top score at the championship. Norway fielded 17 athletes in 14 subjects with Bølgenhaugen as the sole medalist, though three other Norwegian athletes received recognition for excellent performance.
“It feels very good. It is an honor to be allowed, and very exciting,” Bølgenhaugen stated prior to the competition. The Occupational European Championship showcases the skills and dedication of young professionals across a variety of trades and professions.
