What you’ll do
As the Head of Sales for India, you will be Stripe’s representative in its Go-to-Market (GTM) expansion across the region. We are looking for candidates with direct experience scaling businesses in the Indian market and a proven ability to navigate ambiguity.
Your mission: Empower Indian merchants to grow both locally and globally by establishing Stripe as their preferred partner for payments and financial infrastructure. You will collaborate with product and engineering teams to develop tailored solutions, lead critical commercial negotiations, and implement long-term sales strategies that strengthen Stripe’s position in India.
Responsibilities
* Drive sales growth through effective leadership, strategic organizational planning, remarkable customer service, and triumphant execution of all regional programs.
* Oversee the expansion of Stripe’s enterprise operations and cultivate relationships within our startup ecosystem.
* Develop and refine Stripe’s India GTM strategy,guiding investment decisions in collaboration with Product,Engineering,Marketing,Partnerships,and other support teams.
* Recruit and build a high-performing local team to support and accelerate market growth.
* Structure and focus GTM initiatives and product sales campaigns explored by the product team, ensuring effective execution and measurement of success. Analyze results and provide timely, actionable recommendations.
* Define key sales support mechanisms, processes, and programs aligned with rapid business growth and market growth objectives.
* Support regulatory and government teams as needed within the market.
* Serve as the primary Stripe sales leader for media engagements in India.
Who you are

Minimum requirements
* 15+ years of experience in people management,including managing managers.
* Proven success leading Enterprise Sales organizations within a high-growth technology environment.
* Demonstrated experience building high-caliber teams across the region,including launching teams in new locations.
* Ability to hire, train, and mentor a high-performance sales team.
* Strong track record of engagement with system integrators, partners, and the local tech community.
* Proficient in communicating complex issues clearly and concisely to customers and partners, avoiding technical jargon.
* Successfully led growth initiatives with a focus on appropriate segmentation and prioritization.
* Highly analytical,with a commitment to understanding metrics,their implications,and providing actionable recommendations.
* Exhibits a strong sense of humility and curiosity.
* Capable of thinking globally while acting locally and thriving in a multicultural, startup environment.
* Willingness to travel as needed.
Office Expectations
Office-assigned Stripes in most of our locations are currently expected to spend at least 50% of the time in a given month in their local office or with users. This expectation may vary depending on role, team and location. For example, Stripes in our Bucharest, Romania site have an 80% in-office expectation, and those in Stripe Delivery centre roles in Mexico City, Mexico and Bengaluru, India work 100% from the office. Also, some teams have greater in-office attendance requirements, to appropriately support our users and workflows, which the hiring manager will discuss. This approach helps strike a balance between bringing people together for in-person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting adaptability when possible.
