New Arsenal Signing Eberechi Eze Embraces Iconic No. 10 Shirt
Eberechi Eze has spoken of his honor and privilege at inheriting the number 10 shirt for Arsenal, a jersey steeped in club history. the forward recently completed a move to the Gunners from Crystal Palace.
Eze previously wore the number 10 for Crystal Palace, a number also famously worn by Ian Wright during his time with the Eagles before joining Arsenal at the same age as Eze. Wright,a club legend,connected with Eze following his transfer to discuss the importance of the shirt.
“I know what it means,” Eze stated. “It’s a privilege and an honour, as I know the names that have worn this shirt before me. I see this prospect as something that’s like a blessing, so just to be able to be here, I’m going to give everything I have to pay back this type of respect.”
Eze expressed his excitement about playing at Emirates Stadium as an arsenal player, having previously experienced the stadium from the opposing side. ”I’ve walked out [at Emirates Stadium] before, but not as an Arsenal player. So to be on the other side, wearing the number 10… if you were to ask me where I want to be at this age, this is it.”
