Donald Joseph Hogan, Longtime New York State Employee, Passes Away at 72
Watervliet, NY – Donald “Joe” Hogan, 72, of Watervliet, New York, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, November 13, 2025.
Born to the late Donald and Shirley (McClintock) Hogan, and grandson of the late Marie Hogan, Mr. Hogan dedicated his life to family and community. he was a valued member of the Watervliet Senior Center, where he enjoyed amiable games of pool with his companions.
Donald retired from New York State, having served with the Department of Taxation and Finance in Green island. His colleagues remember him as a dedicated and reliable professional.
He is predeceased by his siblings,Richard,Daniel,Darrel,and Ann Marie Hogan.
Mr. Hogan is survived by his siblings: Donna Hanvey, Sharon Hogan, Derrick M. Hogan, Mary Marx, Peter Hogan, Arthur Hogan, and Timothy Hogan. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins who will cherish his memory.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, November 21st, 2025, at 10:00 am at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish, located at 2146 7th Ave., Watervliet, NY 12189. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Donald’s life. Burial will be private.
