Björn Borg Reveals Prostate Cancer Diagnosis,reports Positive Post-treatment Outlook
Geneva,Switzerland – Swedish tennis icon Björn Borg,69,has publicly disclosed his recent battle with prostate cancer. The eleven-time Grand Slam champion underwent treatment following the discovery of irregularities during a September 2023 examination, and reports he is currently doing well.
Borg, who dominated the sport in the late 1970s and early 1980s, shared the news via the news agency AP ahead of the upcoming publication of his autobiography, “Heartbeats.” While recent tests in August showed no evidence of the disease, Borg will continue to undergo examinations every six months. “I don’t have anything at the moment.But I have to be examined every six months. The whole process is not a pleasant thing,” he stated.
The diagnosis came after years of regular screenings for prostate cancer. Borg emphasized the insidious nature of the disease, noting, “The thing is that you don’t feel anything – you feel good, and then it just happened.” His proactive approach to health monitoring ultimately led to early detection and treatment.
