‘Landman‘ Star & Daughter Hint at Long Run amidst sheridan Departure
New York - as Paramount+ prepares to launch season two of its hit drama Landman on November 16, cast members are signaling the series has meaningful staying power, even as creator Taylor Sheridan shifts focus to other projects. The show, centered on the high-stakes world of oil drilling, boasts a seasoned ensemble including Billy Bob Thornton adn Sam Elliott, and appears poised for continued success despite the creative shift.
The potential for multiple seasons stems from the expansive narrative possibilities within the Landman universe, according to Michelle Randolph, who plays Ainsley Norris. “There’s so many stories to tell,” Randolph told The Hollywood Reporter. “There’s so many really distinct characters, I feel like we could go on and on and on because what I always have to remind myself – the first season was 10 days in the show so I’m like, we could film the show for so long because it’s not like it’s one season, taking place over a year or anything.” She emphasized the depth of the characters, noting their flaws contribute to the show’s appeal and offer ample room for development.
The season two premiere, held november 11 at alice Tully Hall in New York, also marked the return of Demi moore in a larger role. Randolph described the experience as “the luckiest day of the year,” sharing the set with Moore, Elliott, Andy Garcia, Thornton, Ali Larter, and Paulina Chávez. “I just had to pinch myself,” she said.
The cast’s optimism arrives as Sheridan, the creative force behind yellowstone and other triumphant Paramount+ series, is reportedly stepping back from day-to-day involvement in Landman to concentrate on other ventures. Despite this change, the ensemble’s confidence, coupled with the rich storylines inherent in the oil industry setting, suggests Landman is well-positioned to continue captivating audiences.
