ASUS Launches First AMD-Powered ROG NUC 9 Mini Gaming PC
TAIPEI, TAIWAN - ASUS has unveiled the ROG NUC 9 Mini, marking the first time the republic of Gamers (ROG) NUC series has featured an AMD processor. The compact gaming PC offers a high-performance alternative to Intel-based NUC configurations, targeting gamers and enthusiasts seeking a powerful, small-form-factor desktop.
The ROG NUC 9 Mini addresses a growing demand for versatile, space-saving gaming rigs.While traditionally dominated by Intel processors, the NUC market now gains a competitive AMD option, potentially lowering costs and expanding choices for consumers. Currently available only in China, the device is priced around $2,100 and signals ASUS’s commitment to diversifying its NUC offerings.
The new NUC supports up to 96 GB of RAM, utilizing DDR5-5600 MT/s memory – a step down from the DDR5-6400 MT/s found in Intel-based models. Storage options include two tool-less M.2-2280 slots, one supporting PCIe 4.0 x4 and the other PCIe 5.0 x4, with an increased maximum capacity of 4 TB per drive, doubling the 2 TB limit of previous NUC iterations.
Connectivity features include Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4, alongside a 2.5 Gbps Ethernet controller. The device also incorporates customizable aRGB LED lighting for aesthetic personalization.
