Former WWE Tag Team Champions Address Potential Crown Jewel Involvement Amidst AJ Styles’ Retirement Timeline
PERTH, AUSTRALIA – As AJ Styles prepares to face John Cena at WWE Crown Jewel in Perth on Saturday, former allies Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson have clarified thier availability, stating they will not be present to support Styles. The clarification comes following a recent on-air promo by Styles expressing feelings of isolation within WWE,coupled with his announcement of a planned retirement in 2026.
Styles’ recent statements and confirmed retirement timeline have sparked discussion about his current standing within the company and the future of his relationships with former stablemates. During the September 8th episode of “Raw,” Styles voiced feeling unsupported, referencing the departures of Gallows, anderson, and Michin. This prompted questions about whether The Good Brothers would appear at crown Jewel to stand with Styles in what could be a final encounter with Cena.
Responding on their “Talk N’ Shop” podcast, Gallows and Anderson confirmed they are committed to independent wrestling engagements and will not be attending Crown Jewel. ”Listen, we’re not going to be able to help ya, AJ,” Gallows stated. “We’re gonna be at the Honorary Wrestling Federation. So don’t call and ask.” Anderson reinforced this commitment, stating, “we’re not canceling anything. If we said we’re going, we have to go.”
The Good Brothers are currently booked through February 2026, including dates with World Series Wrestling in Australia beginning in February 2026, as announced by Luke Gallows on X (formerly Twitter). They are also scheduled to appear at NWA’s Samhain 3 show next weekend. Styles himself recently confirmed he will retire sometime next year, initially reporting the news to Tokyo Sports on Friday.
