AEW Dynamite & Collision ‍- 10/15/2025: 3⁢ Things We Loved And 3 We Hated

Breaking News: Wednesday’s three-hour AEW programming‌ - encompassing both Dynamite and Collision – delivered a mixed bag of compelling wrestling and frustrating ‌execution, notably surrounding the build ⁣to Darby Allin and Jon Moxley’s “I Quit” match. Here’s a breakdown of what worked and what⁤ didn’t.

We Loved:

  1. The Cinematic Promo Exchange: ⁢ the pre-taped promo exchange between Allin and Moxley was generally well-received, effectively building anticipation for their upcoming clash.
  2. The⁢ Opening Match ‍on Collision: The Collision ⁤ opener featuring‌ Daniel Garcia, Wheeler Yuta, Kyle O’Reilly, and Orange Cassidy against the Death Riders‌ proved a strong⁤ start to ⁢the show.
  3. Allin’s commitment to Character: Despite the execution issues (see below), Darby Allin’s dedication to portraying‌ a physically‍ compromised state following his match wiht Pac on Dynamite was commendable.

We Hated:

  1. The Overly Dramatic Allin entrance: Allin’s entrance on Collision ‌was criticized for being ‌excessively ⁢theatrical and unintentionally awkward. Instead of a dynamic entrance – a steel chair, skateboard, ⁣or even a flamethrower – he appeared “limbs crooked and lifeless, like a zombie,” and “shambling down the entrance ramp like ⁢an extra off ‘The Walking Dead.'”
  2. The Pacing of the Allin/Moxley Confrontation: ⁤ The segment where ⁢Allin confronted moxley‍ and the Death‍ Riders dragged on, with the author noting the Death Riders simply “staring at⁢ him as he crawls pathetically to Moxley at two miles an hour.” The intent was resilience,‌ but⁣ the execution felt ⁤prolonged and‌ ineffective.
  3. The Segment’s Overall Execution: Despite a promising concept ‌”on paper,” the segment‌ ultimately⁤ felt “painstaking to watch.” Allin unfurled the AEW flag at Moxley’s feet ⁣before receiving a Death Rider, concluding with a reiteration of Moxley’s ”war on AEW.” As the author stated, “In theory, this makes sense. On paper, this ⁢is cool. In practice? Painstaking to watch.”
