Denise Richards’ estranged husband, Aaron Phypers, was taken into custody by Los angeles County Sheriff’s Deputies immediately following a contentious court hearing regarding a permanent restraining order, according to reports. The reason for the arrest remains unclear.
The incident unfolded as Richards and Phypers appeared in court to address Richards’ request for a permanent restraining order against Phypers. The hearing became notably heated when Aaron’s mother testified, claiming she witnessed Richards throw a can opener at Phypers and denying allegations of abuse or threats made by richards against her son – claims Richards has repeatedly made.
During testimony, Phypers’ mother reportedly refuted Richards’ assertions of abuse and threats. Following the hearing’s conclusion, deputies arrested Phypers as he left the courtroom. It is currently unknown if the arrest is directly related to the existing temporary restraining order or another matter.
