Tire pressure sensors. What they are and how they work – Garage – Car

TV Auto news advises Raivo Paškausks, a member of the board of Autofirma Raivo, a Bosch Car Service network company:

How is the tire pressure monitored and what are the specifics of the sensors?

This can be pressure measurement by the direct method or from ABS sensors. Despite the cost, the direct method is more popular. Every tire has a real pressure sensor which, like any other part, goes out of order over time. The problem is that the battery runs out first. The batteries are not intended to be replaced, so the entire sensor must be replaced. The originals are expensive, but the installation of the non-originals requires knowledge and equipment.

How likely is it that the car will not accept the new sensors?

The risk is high because this device can be used to program sensors from certain manufacturers. The good news is that the sensors from this particular manufacturer fit most cars. Pressure sensors differ in the type of valve – aluminum or rubber.

The former are nicer, but which are more resistant to corrosion?

Rubber is more durable. Aluminum valves must be tightened with a certain force, so they happen to be damaged. If, however, a hand-held device is not enough, the car must be rolled off at a large Bosch stand. But without sensors, the car will not be left. Dealing can always be a simple process a little longer. Watch more in the TV Auto news story.
