Tips for Preventing Hypertension during Eid, Did you know yet?

KOMPAS.com – Increased blood pressure or hypertension often experienced by many people after celebrating Hari Raya Eid.

Disease it can happen because people don’t take care of their diet because they are tempted by high dishes cholesterol and lemak.

Clinical Nutrition Specialist, dr. Juwalita Surapsari, said that there was an increase in the number of patients experiencing hypertension after Lebaran.

He disclosed this fact referring to data from the Pelni Hospital in 2019 in OMRON Virtual Media Briefing which was held on Wednesday (19/4/2022).

“Within five days, starting from Lebaran and after, outpatient visits have increased. And diabetes mellitus with hypertension is disease top,” said Dr. Juwalita.

Eat food typical Eid without worry

Because Lebaran is celebrated once a year, of course, people who celebrate it don’t want hypertension to interfere with this special moment.

So that Eid can be enjoyed without worrying about blood pressure spikes due to foods high in cholesterol and bad fats, dr. Juwalita has a few tricks to prevent this.

1. Be wise to eat Eid special foods

Chicken opor, rendang, stews, or vegetable ketupat that are served on the table when Lebaran arrives indeed tempt many people to eat them immediately.

But, dr. Juwalita suggested that these foods be consumed wisely or not just devoured.
