TikTok is an awful one popular application which also reaches a large group of young children. The fact that there is a gruesome video circulating on the platform that keeps popping up all the time is simply a big deal.
It is a shocking video in which a man shoots himself in the head with a gun. In addition to having the original video removed, any accounts that repost the video will be banned. But it seems to be a long fight.
TikTok is committed to removing shocking video
This article is therefore more of a warning to the people with children who use TikTok. It is a video of a man, with a long gray beard, sitting at his desk. As soon as the video comes along, make sure you wipe it off as the fire department and report it to TikTok. It is not always easy to avoid the video as there are plenty of people who have cut the jarring part of the video in the middle of other videos. A sick game that TikTok itself, according to a spokesperson, is also aware of.
Opposite American website The Verge announces the spokesperson that the company is taking steps. “Our systems have automatically detected and reported a number of clips that violate our platform’s guidelines,” the person said. “It’s about content that shows, praises, glorifies and promotes suicide.” TikTok is busy banning all accounts involved and also thanks the group of people who work with the company for keeping the platform “clean” in this area.
“We appreciate our community members for reporting the content, but also for the fact that they warn other users.”
In addition to disguised films showing the shocking part of the video, videos of people warning about the video also appear.
Harder to avoid
TikTok is obviously not the only platform where these types of videos come along. In the past, Facebook, Instagram and Reddit also had to deal with these kinds of things. Although there is a big difference between the platforms. Where with the last three you have a personalized feed with a taste, all content in TikTok is thrown into one large list. This list is known as the For you-tab and immediately plays everything that passes by. So it is more difficult to avoid the shocking video because of this. Certainly not nice for older users, but certainly not for children and teenagers.
