But he doesn’t always have his emotions under control. Too often he takes on players, fans or the referee.

Langnau had actually already said goodbye to the line fight. But then, 15 seconds before the end in Geneva, Chris DiDomenico conjures this cross pass out of the hat with the Servette defense and Eero Elo ennobles him with the equalizer. A hit that should have the same effect on the Emmental as the magic potion at Asterix. Especially since the Tigers also secure the second point in the penalty shootout.
–
It is no coincidence that DiDomenico is responsible for the resurrection. Even before that, the 30-year-old is the figure among the Emmental people who pulls the cart. He gives the impulses, he clamors unabashedly, although this has long been fruitless and he misses a big chance when he ignites the jet drive and pulls away from it.
–
The Canadian seems to be on the ice almost permanently at a time when the Tigers are struggling to bury their playoff dreams. Trainer Heinz Ehlers pushes him and the other foreigners as if there was no tomorrow.
–
So DiDomenico stands on the ice for over 26 minutes. A steep value for a striker. Especially for someone who recently annoyed and frustrated his trainer again and again.
–
DiDomenico is often in the way of itself
Too often, DiDomenico had been distracted from his core business in the last few games. The impulsive Canadian didn’t have his emotions under control, a discipline problem. He alternated with opponents, referees and opposing fans.
–
DiDo is thus in the way. And its acceptance in and around the club has suffered since its second departure after Christmas became known. Again he doesn’t go noiselessly. The first time he forced him to move to the NHL in Ottawa during the season in the spring. This time he signed for Friborg for the next season, although the Langnauer still wanted to talk to him about a contract extension.
–
But DiDomenico is still there. And will play in a direct duel against his future club for the Tigers on Saturday.
–
The Canadian is the X-factor for the Emmental in stick fighting. Only if he keeps his nerve in the last five qualifying games and reflects on his undisputed qualities does the Ehlers team have another chance. He started in Geneva. Was it the turnaround?
