There were few violations of the ban on contact in Weimar on Easter weekend. As the city announced, the regulatory office only had to dissolve smaller crowds. Nine people met at the Obelisk on the Ettersberg, five young people were found in front of a supermarket in Weimar-Nord. In Asbachstrasse, the employees of the public order office ended a grill party with six people – and on the site of a leisure company in Marcel-Paul-Strasse ten people played and drank together at one table. All participants were instructed and their data recorded. The public order office controlled, among other things, playgrounds, parks and areas of the city center. The police were also on duty.

In Jena and in the district of Nordhausen, stricter rules for wearing mouth-nose protection will apply from Tuesday. In Jena, wearing is now also mandatory at the workplace if the distance of 1.50 meters cannot be maintained. In the district Nordhausen was a face mask last week still voluntary, now it must be worn – in supermarkets, buses, trams and in a taxi.

The district administration hopes that the masks will help to open more shops soon, a spokeswoman said. According to the regulation, medical items can be worn even self-made masks, Scarves, shawls or tube cloths that cover the mouth and nose at the same time. 40 people in the district of Nordhausen were infected with the Corona virus by Easter Monday. According to the district office, six corona patients are treated in hospital, three of whom showed a severe course of the disease.
