Three sisters in Ohio give birth on the same day and hospital

Mansfield, Ohio – Three Ohio sisters defied the odds by giving birth the same day, in the same hospital, and with the same obstetrician.

Daneesha Haynes, Ariel Williams and Ashley Haynes had their children on July 3 at the OhioHealth Hospital in Mansfield for a total of four and a half hours, the Mansfield News Journal reported.

A 1998 Associated Press article mentions that the odds of three sisters giving birth at the same time is 1 in 50 million.

“It was a blessing,” said Daneesha Haynes. “It’s unbelievable. This stumped everyone.”

The three sisters were induced to give birth. Daneesha’s was scheduled for July 23.

Williams was the first to give birth and named Sincere after her 8-pound, 2-ounce daughter. Ashley Hanes followed with her 3 pound (6 pound, 10 ounce) son Adrion, and Daneesha Haynes completed the trio with her daughter Emrie, who weighed 2.2 kilos (4 pounds, 14 ounces).

Dr. Edroy McMillan handled all three deliveries. He declined to be interviewed.

The sisters’ mother, Deborah Ware, jokingly said that there would be no additional children at future newborn birthday parties.

“I don’t know what kind of party we will have,” said Daneesha Haynes. “We will be partying two days in a row.”
