Thiruvananthapuram Vattakayat Three people who bathed in Kallar had a tragic end. Safan, Firoz and Jawad, natives of Bimapally, drowned. Feroze is a Jawad policeman and teacher at the SAP camp. The group of eight reached the vicinity of Kallar in the middle of the journey to Ponmudi. Four people entered the water but the woman was rescued by the locals. The three dead fell into the vortex of the river and when they reached the shore they were all three dead. The deceased Firoz and Jawad are brothers. Safan, who is a student, is his sister’s son.
The woman, rescued by the locals, had no other problems, the group of eight went to two Ponmudi. Locals say they went down the river ignoring the signs. The corpses were transferred to Thiruvananthapuram Medical College. He will be released to his relatives tomorrow after the autopsy. Incidents are common in Vattakayat. Police and panchayat warning panels have been placed here to emphasize this.
