Other three doctors died this Sunday, August 30 due to complications associated with the COVID-19 in the states Táchira, Bolívar and Anzoátegui, confirmed the health unions and authorities.
In the state of Táchira the doctor died Andrés del Orbe, obstetrician gynecologist. He was a graduate of the first class of Gynecology and Obstetrics at the Central Hospital of San Cristóbal (Hcsc) and father of Dr. Andrés del Orbe, also an obstetrician-gynecologist trained at the institution.
“In life he distinguished himself by being an excellent professional and incomparable friend,” shared the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics of the Hcsc in a note of condolences. He worked in Guasdualito, Apure state. He is the third doctor to die in Táchira this week and since the start of the national emergency.
In Bolívar state, the doctor died Miguelina Rivera. She was a comprehensive physician and catechist and performed community work in Maripa. He died in the COVID-19 area of the Ruiz y Páez hospital,
“An excellent professional who stood out for his spirit of service that, at all times, he made available to the health conferences organized by Cáritas Ciudad Bolívar,” wrote the Archdiocese of Ciudad Bolívar and Cáritas Ciudad Bolívar in a note of mourning.
Ulises Gutiérrez, archbishop of Ciudad Bolívar, affirmed that Dr. Miguelina “offered her life for the COVID-19 patients.”
Spokespersons for United Doctors of Venezuela also confirmed both deaths to Cocuyo effect.
In Anzoátegui state, the doctor died Pedro Cedeno, from Anaco, confirmed the governor of Anzoátegui, Antonio Barreto Sira. He was in intensive care at the Luis Razetti Hospital in Barcelona.
With the deaths of the professionals, there are four deaths this Sunday, August 30. The first was the graduate resident of the state of Zulia Maudlin Oliveros, 30 years old, who worked at the Hospital General del Sur and died at the University Hospital of Maracaibo.
Only in August have passed away 53 health workers in the country, of which 17 correspond to the last week (August 24 to 30). In total, 88 health workers have died in the country since March, and 69 of them were doctors.
