Three Dead, Several Injured in Vehicle Crashes in Tarrant County – NBC Dallas (39)

Three people were killed and two others injured after three crashes on highways in Fort Worth and Arlington Thursday night and early Friday.

According to the Fort Worth Police Department, officers from the East Division responded to the intersection at Martin Luther King Freeway and East Berry Street shortly after 11 p.m.

Police said a vehicle was stopped in the northbound lanes of the Martin Luther King Expressway at the time of the crash.

An individual in an uninvolved vehicle stopped to help the driver of the disabled car, but the disabled car was struck by another oncoming vehicle as they tried to run the car off the road, police said.

According to police, the person who stopped to help move the disabled vehicle was later transported to John Peter Smith Hospital in critical condition with life-threatening injuries. He was later pronounced dead, police said.

Police said the driver of the oncoming vehicle and another person were also transported to John Peter Smith Hospital in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.

A second accident occurred at the intersection of 360 and 183, where a car; He was stranded in the middle of the road and was struck and killed by a driver.

A third accident occurred in Arlington on Highway 360 and Mayfield Rd. when a driver was stranded and got out of the vehicle and was struck by another driver. The 63-year-old man was taken to hospital but died from his injuries. Upon arriving at the scene, police found the suspect identified as Gabriel Bocanegra, 53, who was arrested and faces charges of erratic driving and drunk driving.
