Alexander Darchiev announced a possible break in diplomatic relations.
Moscow threatened to sever diplomatic relations with Washington in case of recognition Russian Federation “country-sponsor of terrorism”. The Russian Federation said that this would be a “point of no return.”
This was stated by the director of the North America Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry Alexander Darchiev in an interview with the TASS propaganda publication.
“If it (the initiative to recognize the Russian Federation as a sponsor of terrorism – UNIAN) is implemented, it will mean that Washington has crossed the point of no return with the most serious collateral damage to bilateral diplomatic relations,” the diplomat said.
At the same time, he described relations between Russia and the United States as “turbulent.” According to Darchiev, Western states allegedly “trampled international law and absolute taboos in diplomatic practice.”

It is worth noting that now the list of sponsors of terrorism includes four countries – Iran, North Korea, Cuba and Syria.
This status provides for strict restrictions on cooperation with such a state, a ban on the export of defense goods, control over the export of dual-use products, as well as a number of other restrictions, including financial ones. In addition, sanctions are possible from other states that continue to cooperate with the sponsor of terrorism.
As UNIAN previously reported, the US Senate unanimously supported the resolution which calls on Secretary of State Anthony Blinken to declare Russia a state sponsor of terrorism for its crimes in Chechnya, Georgia, Syria and Ukraine.
11 August The Saeima of Latvia recognized Russia as a state supporting terrorism. The EU countries called for an immediate halt to tourism and the issuance of visas to citizens of the Russian Federation and Belarus.
