NEW YORK — A New York City Police beekeeper had to round up thousands of bees in Times Square on Sunday after they apparently made a hive in the area of an outdoor restaurant.
No injuries were reported, but it was quite a sight with a police beekeeper seemingly unfazed as he handled hundreds of buzzing bees.
There were no immediate reports of injuries to humans or insects.
It is not the first time that insects have taken over a corner of Times Square. The New York City Police had to move about 25,000 of them from Times Square one day in early July last summer.
More bees were rounded up in other parts of Manhattan as recently as last Tuesday.
