Revenues fell sharply for Thomas Alsgaard in 2019, which resulted in a loss of several hundred thousand kroner.

The figures for Thomas Alsgaard AS for 2019 show that turnover fell to NOK 1.21 million from NOK 1.66 million the year before. This strongly contributes to a profit of NOK 566,000 in 2018 being worsened to a loss of NOK 445,000 in 2019.
We have to go back to 2009 to find a lower turnover for the company. At most, turnover in the period was over NOK 5 million, and the results have fluctuated greatly for Alsgaard

Lots of goods
Despite the deficit, the company is still solid. At the end of last year, the equity in Thomas Alsgaard AS was valued at 2.81 million, but most of the company’s values are entered under cryptic «goods».
Alsgaard allocated NOK 675,000 in salary for last year, a doubling from 2018.
And if it went badly last year, it looks even worse this year, the corona pandemic also affects the former cross-country star. In the annual report, Alsgaard writes that the Covid -19 pandemic affects the company negatively, as parts of the turnover related to operations have been significantly reduced.

Lots of gold
Alsgaard (48) is one of Norway’s most winning cross-country skiers ever. Among other things, he can look back on five Olympic golds, of which three are individual, and six World Cup golds. The last two came in Val di Fiemme in 2003. Alsgaard won the World Cup in total in 1997-98 and also has seven Norwegian championships.
He retired after the 2003 season, but made a comeback in 2007 and then focused primarily on long-distance racing, before finally retiring in 2015. In 2017, he closed down the long-distance team Team LeasePlan after four years of commitment, because sponsorship income was lacking.
Alsgaard was an expert commentator for NRK until 2013.
The skier is still involved in this year’s edition of “Skal vi danse”, where he and his partner Rikke Lund are one of six remaining couples on the floor.
