This week, the Latvian Museum of Nature will see more than 100 gladiolus varieties The news

Riga, August 10, LETA. The exhibition “Gladiolas 2020” will take place at the Latvian Museum of Nature from August 12 to August 16, where more than 100 flower varieties and their hybrids in all rainbow colors will be on display, Baiba Krustiņa, a representative of the Communication Department of the Latvian Museum of Nature, informed LETA.

Latvian gladiolus breeders and breeders will provide gladiolus visitors’ evaluation.

Gladiolus are grateful flowers, they grow well in soils of various compositions, forgive fertilization errors, are able to withstand both excessive drought and high humidity. Their flowers have a very wide range of applications – they can be used both in flower bouquets and in composition. With regular removal of old flowers, gladiolus retains its splendor for a very long time, they bloom all the buds up to the tip of the ear.

Krustiņa pointed out that the exhibition was created in cooperation with the Latvian Gladiolus and Iris Society. Breeders Dace Puriņa, Laimonis Zaķis and Juris Bāze will take part in it with their varieties, collectors Aija Stūrīte, Raimonds Puriņš and Agra Straumane will invite you to visit their glorious collections.

During the exhibition it will be possible to receive consultations from gladiolus growers and breeders, as well as to buy various bulbs, irises and dayflowers suitable for planting in August. Gladiolus breeder Rabbit will offer a look at the catalogs of his varieties.

This year, the gladiolus exhibition will be complemented by tree paintings by Laine Kainaize and Gunta Brakovska.

In order to ensure the safety of visitors and to comply with the regulations in force in the country regarding gatherings and public events, the museum informs that 25 people may be present at the exhibition at the same time.

The exhibition will be open on Wednesdays from 12 noon to 5 pm, on Thursdays and Fridays from 10 am to 5 pm, and on Saturdays and Sundays from 11 am to 5 pm.
