Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, Edhy Prabowo, apologized after being named a suspect in a case of suspected export bribery benur. He promised to be responsible.

“This is an accident that happened and I am responsible for this. I did not run away and I will tell you what I did,” he said. Edhy Prabowo to reporters at the KPK Building, Jakarta, Thursday (26/11/2020) in the early hours.

Edhy Prabowo also apologized to many parties for his actions. An apology to President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to the Minister of Defense who is also Ketum Gerindra, Prabowo Subianto.

“I apologize to Mr. President, I have betrayed his trust. Apologize to Mr. Prabowo Subianto, my teacher, who has taught many things,” said Edhy.

Edhy also apologized to his mother. The Gerindra Party cadre admits that he is strong and will take responsibility.

“I apologize to my mother who I am sure today watched on TV. At this age, she is still strong. I am still strong and I will be responsible for what happened,” said Edhy.

Previously it was reported that Edhy Prabowo was arrested by the KPK on Tuesday (24/11) just before midnight at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Cengkareng. At that time, Edhy Prabowo got off the plane that delivered him from Japan. Previously, Edhy Prabowo and his entourage visited Hawaii, United States (US) and then returned to Indonesia by first transiting in Japan.

After 24 hours, Edhy Prabowo was named a suspect. The KPK concluded that there were allegations of corruption in the form of receiving bribes or promises by state officials.

“The KPK concludes that there is a suspicion of corruption in the form of receiving gifts or promises by State Administrators related to permits for ponds, businesses and / or management of fisheries or other similar marine commodities in 2020,” said KPK Deputy Chair, Nawawi Pomolango at a press conference.
