Electromobility divides drivers into two groups. Some accepted her and enjoyed them. The other cannot make a name for electric cars and at least ignores them. But the fact is that we don’t just get rid of electromobility, quite the opposite. Its expansion is being promoted by both the authorities and the carmakers themselves. But you have the opportunity to show that concept electric car it doesn’t just mean a boring city car.
This is evidenced, for example, by the Ford Mustang Cobra Jet 1400, which was introduced in April this year. It is a prototype designed for sprint racing and is also a reminder of the legendary Cobra Jet dragster from the 1960s. Ford worked with Cascadia Motion on the electric Mustang, which worked primarily on the powertrain.
These are four electric motors, which together have 1491 Nm of torque and an output of 1400 horsepower. The first tests estimated that this electric beast would be able to sprint for a quarter of a mile in about eight seconds, while its speed during such a takeoff was estimated at 270 km / h.
As it turned out, those estimates were accurate. A few days ago, Ford decided to put its electric racing prototype on a sharp start and find out how it really is. And the result? Breathtaking! It is interesting to watch the electric car burn the tires before the start and at the same time no powerful eight-cylinder can be heard. At the start, he then rises to the back and flies forward. The quarter-mile sprint finally managed this electric car in 8.27 seconds, while at the finish line the marshals measured the estimated 270 km / h.
