Düsseldorf One of the most popular shops in the Netherlands will soon have a shop in Düsseldorf. Where exactly it will open – and what else is known about it.

Düsseldorf’s old town will be enriched by a cult shop: a branch of the Dutch chain Dille & Kamille will move into the empty shop at Flinger Straße 28. This offers, among other things, home accessories, crockery and glasses as well as spices, herbs and baking ingredients. It should be ready in autumn, but employees are currently still being sought.

Is “Dille & Kamille” coming to Düsseldorf?

“At the end of October we will open our third store in Germany – in Düsseldorf,” the company said in a post on its Instagram page. “We are very happy that you will also find us in this beautiful city.”

The exact address is not disclosed in the post, but the company confirmed the information from our editorial team about the location on Flinger Straße on request. “Our concept fits best in the authentic and historical part of cities, so in our opinion the old town suits us best and we to the old town,” said Dille & Kamille. On a Dutch website becomes managing director Hans Geels quoted as saying that, in his opinion, Düsseldorf is “the best shopping city in North Rhine-Westphalia”.

The Lascana lingerie shop previously had a branch in the shop on Flinger Strasse, right next to the fashion chain Zara. It is currently completely empty, from the outside there are no indications of future use. However, the company has emphasized that it wants to create a nice shop here – and is already looking online for employees for the future branch.

This means that the state capital has gained another shop that you had to travel to the Netherlands to find for a long time – but now there are also Dille & Kamille in Münster and Cologne. Since winter 2019 there is also a branch of the Dutch chain Hema, just a few houses away, also on Flinger Straße.

The retail chain’s website states that since it was founded in 1974, it has relied on “natural simplicity as a counter-reaction to the emerging throwaway society”. The concept therefore includes natural materials and the use of as little plastic as possible.

Around 20 employees will work in the Düsseldorf branch. There are currently still many vacancies and employees are being sought, “from branch managers to visual merchandisers or salespeople,” it says.
