District Health Office Wajo noted that in 2020, there were 37 cases with details of 30 HIV sufferers and 7 AIDS sufferers.

In 2019, there were 42 cases with details of 28 HIV sufferers and 14 AIDS sufferers.

Then, in 2018, there were 25 cases recorded, with 18 people with HIV and 7 AIDS sufferers.

Meanwhile in 2017, 60 people were recorded, with details of 45 people with HIV and 15 AIDS sufferers.

Then in 2016, there were 21 cases, with details of 15 people with HIV and 6 people with AIDS.

According to the Head of Disease Prevention and Control Division of the District Health Office Wajo, Andi Sumange Alam, socialization continues to be carried out to prevent transmission HIV / AIDS.

“Among them are socialization or counseling for school children, the community and pregnant women, testing for key populations and triple elimination for people with hepatitis / STI, TB and pregnant women. Besides, treatment for sufferers,” he said, Wednesday (12/2/2020).
