This saves you hundreds of euros on car insurance

Hamburg. The Advertising messages the Car insurer show the Changing season is in full swing. Hamburg’s drivers can get one up to November 30th cheaper provider change or seek a better offer from your previous insurer. A survey by YouGov showed that 48 percent of motorists are considering changing their car insurance in 2020. The goal: 85 percent want to save money, and 27 percent also hope for better insurance benefits.

Insurers also want to benefit from this willingness to switch. Allianz Direct advertises with sprint star Usain Bolt, tells the story of buying a car and shows that the policy can be concluded with a few clicks on a smartphone. The HUK Coburg spots, on the other hand, convey the striking message of “unbelievable services at an unbelievable price”.

The difference is that in comparative calculations by the Abendblatt (see graphic), the HUK Group’s tariffs are often among the cheapest providers, while a Allianz Direct tariff is not among the best. A more extensive comparison by Stiftung Warentest also shows that the tariffs of the direct insurer HUK24 are far better than the average for all age groups, while Allianz Direct only scores better than the average. Switching to a new type of protection is not just a question of price, the benefits must also be right. The evening paper answers the most important questions about changing insurance.

What is the price level of car insurance in Hamburg?

The major German cities such as Hamburg, Berlin or Cologne are particularly expensive regions. Hamburgers pay around 40 percent more for all-round protection than the national average. “Large cities are often classified in high regional classes because there are more crashes due to the denser traffic,” says Tobias Stuber, Managing Director at Check24. And the higher the classification – Hamburg has the highest regional class in liability insurance – the more expensive the policies become.
