Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s daughter, Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, celebrated her first birthday at Frogmore cottage in Windsor on June 4. The toddler’s party took place behind the scenes, during Queen Elizabeth’s platinum anniversary celebrations. An informal picnic was organized in the backyard for the occasion, a spokesperson for the Sussexes revealed in the magazine Town & country.

On her birthday, an impressive pink cake was cut, made by Claire Ptak. The baker of Violet cakes London is no stranger, because in 2018 she also made Harry and Meghan’s wedding cake. “It was an absolute pleasure to make this special cake for Lilibet. I wish her a very happy year,” Ptak wrote in a series of photos on Instagram. There she also revealed more details about the taste of the pastry. †Read more below the photo)

The inside of the cake was made of amalfi lemon and elderflower cake, the same ingredients used in the cake for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding. The biggest difference was in the cream. Instead of regular buttercream, Ptak now went for strawberry buttercream to get a pink color. The dessert was decorated with flowers from top to bottom. Peonies to be precise, Mama Meghan’s favorite flowers. An edible orange banner on which Lilibet was written, completed the tasty creation.

In 2018, Claitre Ptak already showed on Twitter how she made Harry and Meghan’s wedding cake:
