Yes, they are both a Battle Royale game. But there are more similarities between Fall Guys and Fortnite.
And that is an annoying agreement. Namely the fact that both Fall Guys like Fortnite contend with nasty cheaters. The largest group of cheaters can be found on the PC. Simply because it is a lot harder to cheat on a console than on a computer.
And with that comes another similarity between Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout and Fortnite. Namely that Mediatonic, the company behind the game, will use the same anti-cheat software mechanism as currently used with Fortnite. In a response to Twitter, the company says it is aware that Fall Guys is unfortunately dealing with cheaters.
With a major update, a lot of the cheaters should be wiped out. It is expected that this update will be rolled out in the coming weeks. Possibly before next season’s arrival in Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout next month
It is not the case that it is a golden panacea. For example, some cheaters still have free rein, despite the anti-cheat technologies in the game. It is and remains a game of cat and mouse between developers and cheaters.
