Modern sports cars can all reach 250 km / h in the blink of an eye. Not just the real sports versions, by the way: today even a simple diesel variant can reach these figures without too much difficulty. As the smallest premium station wagon exceeds 200 horsepower, performance is still there.

But in the mid-1980s, the 200 km / h barrier was not easily crossed. Certainly, the best sports cars could already exceed 300 km / h. But you had to hang on to reach 200 km / h behind the wheel of a luxury coupe.

As you can see in this video, cars like the stunning Mercedes 280 CE Coupé still have some nice scraps. With its in-line six cylinders of 185 horsepower, the beautiful German can still approach 210 km / h today, with 184,000 km on the clock. Not bad is not it ?
