Booster doses of AstraZeneca and CanSino will be applied in the country.

The application of booster doses against COVID-19 for the population over 18 years of age was advanced a month, this was announced today by the Minister of Health, Ximena Garzón.

Due to the omicron variant, booster dose vaccination against COVID-19 is advanced for December 1

In Ecuador, booster doses are currently being given to health personnel, the elderly, and people with immunosuppression. For people who suffer from moderate to severe immunosuppression, older than 12 years, the same vaccine received in the first and second doses will be used.

In the evening, the Ministry of Health released the monthly vaccination schedule for the booster doses. Those who completed the vaccination schedule with Pfizer, AstraZeneca and Sinovac will receive a booster dose of AstraZeneca after six months. In the case of those who received the CanSino single-dose, they will also receive it in six months.
