JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TVSOE Minister Erick Thohir revealed the reason why his party reported the alleged corruption case at Garuda Indonesia to the Attorney General’s Office, not to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

Erick said that after coordinating with various parties, it was decided that the alleged corruption case at Garuda Indonesia should be reported to the Attorney General’s Office.

Moreover, said Erick, the anti-corruption agency, which is commanded by Firli Bahuri, currently has its own system and format, which is more focused on preventing corruption.

“After coordinating with many parties, we are more focused on reporting to the Prosecutor’s Office because this is comprehensive,” said Erick Thohir to Compass TV on Tuesday (11/1/2022).

“Currently the KPK format is more about prevention and they have their own system. In addition, we want improvements in BUMN not to be carried out in pieces.”

Erick explained that the ministry he currently leads has a major program, namely reforming SOEs.

The reforms carried out, said Erick, were not only taking action related to things that already existed. But also improve the overall administrative system in BUMN, one of which is Garuda Indonesia.

“Incidentally, with the Attorney General’s Office at that time, we had an agreement on a major SOE reform program,” said Erick Thohir.
