This is how the NBA will reveal the 75 best players in history

The National Basketball Association (NBA) announced today that its 75th Anniversary Team, comprised of the top 75 players in league history, will be revealed during special editions of NBA Tip-Off presented by CarMax on TNT and NBA Today on ESPN’s October 19 to October 21.

Twenty-five team members, representing various positions and eras in NBA history, will be announced over three days. The team will be selected by a panel of media and current and former players, coaches, general managers and team executives.

TNT will begin unveiling the 75th Anniversary Team on Tuesday, October 19 at 7 p.m. Argentina during an extended edition of NBA Tip-Off presented by CarMax featuring Ernie Johnson’s Emmy Award-winning team, Charles Barkley, Shaquille O ‘ Neal and Kenny Smith. The 90-minute show will air before the doubleheader between the defending champions Milwaukee Bucks and the Brooklyn Nets (20.30), and the Golden State Warriors vs. the Los Angeles Lakers (23).

ESPN will take over the honors on Wednesday, October 20 at 4 p.m. when it announces 25 more team members during NBA Today, the channel’s new 60-minute daily show featuring host Malika Andrews, ahead of the season start doubleheader. with the Boston Celtics facing the New York Knicks (20.30), and the Denver Nuggets playing the defending Western Conference champion Phoenix Suns (23).

The final 25 team members will be announced during NBA Tip-Off presented by CarMax on TNT on Thursday, October 21 at 7 p.m., prior to the Dallas Mavericks vs. Atlanta Hawks (20.30) and the LA Clippers vs. the Warriors (23).

As part of “NBA 75,” the celebration of the league’s historic 75th Anniversary Season, the NBA selected Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame members Clyde Drexler, Magic Johnson, Bob Pettit and Oscar Robertson, also as 14-time NBA All-Star Dirk Nowitzki, to serve as ambassadors for the 2021-22 season. Representing different eras in league history, the ambassadors will make appearances throughout the 75th Anniversary Season and will have a significant presence during NBA All-Star 2022 in Cleveland.
