Bundesliga promoted Austria Klagenfurt has set the dates for the preparation for the new season. On June 21, coach Peter Pacult asks his protégés for the first session after their summer vacation. Four test matches have been set: on June 29, the neo-Bundesliga team will face ASKÖ Köttmannsdorf (Kärntner Liga) away, on July 2 they will face second division champions Blau-Weiß Linz, and on July 6, the Violettes will face 1860 Munich do before SV Lafnitz will be a guest in Klagenfurt on July 9th.
A highlight is the test match on July 6th in Windischgarsten against TSV 1860 Munich. The German third division team is completing a training camp in Upper Austria at this time. The duel with the “lions” gives some violets a reunion with the “old love”.
Sports director Matthias Imhof and trainer Peter Pacult played together for the Munich team from 1993 to 1995 and celebrated the leap into the upper house. Right-back Herbert Paul can also look back on a “blue” past; before moving to Waidmannsdorf, he played 62 competitive games in 1860.
“Back then, Peter and I had a great time with the ‘Löwen’, which we of course fondly remember. The contact has never been broken off over the years and we look forward to seeing old friends again. But first and foremost, it’s an interesting test for us against a good opponent, ”says sports director Imhof, who, after his active career, also worked as a junior manager for the Munich team.
