Jakarta

Charged Indonesia introduces factory facilities in Cikupa, Tangerang, Banten on Monday (5/12/2022). It turns out that the manufacturer working with the Vmoto Soco Group has already exported its units to two Southeast Asian countries.

“We have exported to several countries, Vietnam and Thailand,” Stephanus Widi, Chief Commercial Officer Charged Indonesia at Cikupa Plant, Tangerang, said on Monday (5/12/2022).

Stephanus did not disclose the number of exports made to the two countries. However, for domestic orders, the number has only reached 1,200 units, while the number of units shipped is in the dozens.

“Exports have just started, we are just a pilot (trial) project, we expect demand to continue, usage to increase and we will become regular,” he said.

Currently, the Charged Indonesia plant located in Cikupa occupies an area of approximately 16,000 square meters. The maximum production capacity is 230 thousand units per year. It currently employs approximately 115 employees.

The local content level is only about 20%. A component that already uses local products are the tyres.

“With VMoto’s support, we bring parts from China to be assembled here. Of course, we will gradually localize local products to drive the economy in Indonesia. We not only bring in foreign products, but also want to drive the local economy. for example yesterday we used locally produced tyres,” he said.

Charged Indonesia is an electric motorcycle manufacturer working with Vmoto Soco group to simultaneously introduce three electric motorcycles in the country. Only these three bikes have unusual names, such as Anoa, Rimau and Maleo.

The first electric motorcycle they introduced was the Anoa. Charged Anoa is designed as an alias for heavy commercial use electric motorcycles.

The Anoa is claimed to be capable of carrying loads of up to 150 kg and a maximum accommodation volume of 250 litres. To back up its experience of working hard, Charged has equipped the Anoa with 2 Li-ion batteries which are said to be capable of a range of up to 200km.

Besides Anoa, Charged Indonesia also features Rimau. This electric motorcycle is designed as a sports vehicle and is designed as a motorcycle suitable for daily commuting.

Similar to Anoa, Rimau is also equipped with two lithium batteries whose mileage is claimed to be 200km. Charged Indonesia also claims that this electric motorcycle can reach a top speed of up to 95km per hour.

Then another electric motorcycle presented is Maleo. Unlike the two previous bikes, Maleo comes with a more compact stature.

Charged Maleo is conceived as a true urban motorcycle, agile and efficient. This electric motorcycle is equipped with a single battery with a maximum range of 125 km and a maximum speed of 75 km per hour.

So the specifications exported to Vietnam and Thailand are different from those marketed in Indonesia?

“We’re still using the same model. That’s why we’re now sending it first as part of our pilot project. When it was placed there in Vietnam,” Stephanus said.
