Not only trying to make electricity prices from PLTS competitive, according to him, the government is also trying to encourage the use of local products. In order to encourage the domestic industry, the NRE market must be encouraged.
“The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources supports the industrialization of NRE until 2035. On the one hand, how can we reduce NRE to be competitive. Consideration that the industry will grow together,” he continued.
Previously, the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Arifin Tasrif had said the same thing. According to him, Indonesia needs to create a significant and attractive market for investors, including in the upstream solar panel sector.

He admitted that currently there is still an issue of Domestic Component Level (TKDN) in the PLTS or solar panel industry. For this reason, his party will also try to improve regulations related to this matter.
“We have a problem at the Domestic Component Level (TKDN), the government supports TKDN, this is a sector that must be repaired together from the PLTS industry players,” he explained.
He said that in opening up this upstream opportunity, binding regulations are needed, so that investors can enter and Indonesia does not lag behind other countries whose solar power industry has developed.
“Why is ACWA Power a company in Saudi Arabia, Masdar, Mubadala (a company from the United Arab Emirates), why can they compete in the international market for PV mini-grid?
According to him, Indonesia has a huge market potential. If this market potential is utilized optimally, it will be able to create opportunities together.
“We have a large market, 30, 40, 50, how many tens maybe up to 100 GW can be used, we both create opportunities,” he explained.
