Madrid, Dec 14 (EFE) .- The organization of the San Silvestre Vallecana has reported that it has exceeded the barrier of 30,000 registered for the race, which this year is carried out in virtual format, and that according to the commitment acquired, more than 30 tons of food to help those most in need.
At the beginning of the registration, in October, the organization announced its commitment, acquired together with one of its sponsors, to donate one kilogram for each of the participants.
According to the director of marketing and communication of the Madrid Food Bank Foundation, Mila Benito, “thanks to this help, more than 2,000 families, of four people each, will receive food to spend more than a full month.”
The Madrid Food Bank Foundation will be in charge of distributing the 30 tons of food throughout Madrid, making a special reinforcement in the Vallecas neighborhood, one of the most affected by this pandemic and origin of the December 31 race. EFE
