Thirteenth annual meeting of “Aman Union” inaugurated by Thani Al-Zeyoudi in Dubai

Dubai, May 30 / WAM / Today, Al Etihad Export Credit Company, the credit protection company of the United Arab Emirates government, hosted the thirteenth annual meeting of the “Aman Union”, in the presence of His Excellency Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, and Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors. The Union Department of Export Credit, with the participation of experts and leaders of export credit from 35 countries, to discuss the future of the sector.

In his opening speech, His Excellency Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi stressed the importance of cooperation and innovation efforts in overcoming the challenges facing the global economy and opening new growth horizons.

The thirteenth annual meeting of the “Aman Union” was attended by major institutions in the export and re-export sector, such as the Arab Corporation for the Guarantee of Investment and Export Credit (Daman), the Islamic Corporation for the Insurance of Investment and Export Credit, the World Bank Group and the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency.

Participants discussed pioneering strategies and sustainable solutions to face the most pressing global economic challenges the world is witnessing, and the discussion will also expand to include other sectors such as insurance, reinsurance, export credit, trade and structured finance.

The holding of the annual meeting of the “Aman Union” for this year coincides in its importance with the “Year of Sustainability” in the UAE and the country’s hosting of the Conference of the Parties on Climate “COP28”, as it highlights the joint initiatives between the “Export Credit Union” and the “Aman Union” to promote Global Dialogue on Sustainable Trade and Export Credit Insurance. Experts from various sectors will participate in a series of panel discussions on innovative financing solutions, risk mitigation strategies and the role of digital technologies in shaping the future of global trade.

Her Excellency Raja Al Mazrouei, President of the General Assembly of Aman Union and CEO of Al Etihad Export Credit Company, said that the partnership with “Aman Union” reflects a common vision and commitment to facing global challenges with regard to sustainable development, climate change and promoting economic growth for the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, stressing on Establishing a comprehensive network to empower Emirati companies and enhance the investment environment in the country, in addition to diversifying the non-oil sector.This partnership allows identifying opportunities that meet the needs of the export sector in the UAE, in line with the vision of “We Are the Emirates 2031.”

For his part, Osama Al-Qaisi, Secretary General of the Aman Union and CEO of the Islamic Corporation for the Insurance of Investment and Export Credit, said: “The annual meeting of the Aman Union is an important platform for the members of the union and the participants to discuss pressing issues affecting the sector and the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
