On Friday evening, Kjell Scherpen played another match for Young Ajax for the first time in a month against Helmond Sport. He rotates with Dominik Kotarski, while there is no place left for him in Ajax 1.
Scherpen has to deal with competitions in the Kitchen Champion Division. In Ajax 1 he is third goalkeeper. After Bruno Varela’s blunders against Jong FC Utrecht, the call to put Scherpen on goal against Getafe became bigger. “Varela just played, that is the second keeper. A logical choice of the coach,” Scherpen tells FOX Sports.
“It’s always nice to play. I kept the zero, so a great evening,” says Scherpen after the 0-2 victory of Young Ajax at Helmond Sport. “Every game you can play you want to play. Then you have to bring out the best in yourself. It went well. I am happy that I have been able to play another game.”
Sharpening remains patient in Amsterdam. “I know what I have chosen. I have now started that process. It is going in the right direction.”
