Thionville. Blue wave against bullying at school

Fight against harassment: the idea has been running through the heads of young municipal councilors in Thionvillois for several years. Initiatives have been curbed over the past two years. But Tuesday, June 28, nothing should stop them. All the elementary schools in the city will participate in the same flash mob, flash mobilization and dance, in the playground around 4 p.m., with the complicity of the teaching teams. The event affects nearly 2,400 students.

They will be around 480, from the Victor-Hugo and Poincaré schools, to reach the Europe footbridge around 3 p.m. They will present the same choreography, joined by elected officials, the Council of Elders, facilitators and city services. The movement will be visible from afar. Because, beyond the crowd, the event also provides for a dress code: all participants must wear a blue T-shirt.

The merchants of Thionville should take part in this colorful and committed day, with decorated windows, encouragement addressed to the children who will cross the city center to reach the footbridge. Parents of students are also invited to dress in blue. The objective is indeed to strike the spirits, to make the cause visible.

“One in 10 children is a victim of bullying,” says Emmanuel Bertin, deputy mayor of Thionville in charge of education and school affairs. A figure evaluated by the associative networks. “Harassment is a matter of repeated violence, whether physical, verbal, psychological,” recalls the elected official.
