**Sucatzky** Dishing Dimes: Ties U19 World Cup Assist Record

In a dazzling display of court vision, **Thiago Sucatzky** has etched his name in the FIBA U19 Basketball World Cup record books. The Argentinian point guard equaled the all-time high for assists in a single game.

Tying the Record

**Sucatzky** racked up an impressive 14 assists in a game against Cameroon on July 4, 2025. This performance ties the record previously set by **Alexandre Bouzidi** of France in 2023. He also contributed 14 points and 3 rebounds to Argentina’s 85-67 victory in the 9-16 classification round.

Reflecting on his achievement, **Sucatzky** gave credit to his teammates, saying, “Thanks to my teammates for trusting me in the whole process. Without them I couldn’t do anything.”

Notably, the average number of assists per game in the NBA during the 2023-2024 season was 26.6 (TeamRankings.com).

Following in the Footsteps of an Idol

Many observers have noted the similarities between **Sucatzky**’s playing style and that of another Argentinian basketball star. The young point guard openly acknowledges that he models his game after a fellow countryman. “Facundo Campazzo is my idol. When I was a kid I always watched him and wanted to be like him.” said **Sucatzky**.

Before his record-tying performance, **Sucatzky** had already demonstrated his playmaking abilities. He totaled 16 assists in Argentina’s first four games, including 8 in a win over Serbia.
