The Google Play store has become a fertile ground for applications and malware, as a research team from Cyber ​​News specializing in technological analysis and technology news warned against installing a set of applications launched by random developers, which may steal user data and infect them with malicious and malicious programs.

The team focused on so-called “beauty cameras”, which are applications for photography, with additions of shapes and filters for images before they are published and shared, these applications steal your data and sell it, or infect you with malicious ads without stopping, or redirect you to phishing sites, or even spying on you, according to a magazine American “Forbes”.

And the research team identified, after a deep analysis, 30 applications in “Google Play”, they were downloaded billions of times, and they proved that they are malware or spyware, and the researchers pointed out that most of the malicious applications originate from China.

The researchers based their findings on the fact that these free applications require suspicious permissions, and this is a source of danger, as these applications often search for access to your data, contacts, camera and even your phone.

Besides fraudulent ads, applications can target users with phishing messages with links to malicious URLs that grow malware, track your device, and access your device’s elements as spyware.

The team also found that one app has the ability to clear your contact list, 13 apps require them to access your GPS location, 10 apps require access to your location via cell towers and Wi-Fi networks, and 23 apps require access to the microphone, all of whom ask to allow By entering files on your device.

The researchers advised to delete these applications immediately, and they recommended some simple advice, the most important of which is relying on legitimate, safe and clear applications, and the team suggests Messenger, Snapchat and Instagram.
