In that order, the tourism minister said that the theme park will have an investment of 170 million dollars, which will open the doors to the diversity of the eastern region, which is the spearhead in the Dominican Republic.

Collado pointed out that 180 million dollars will be invested in the hotels and 50 million pesos in the renovation of their rooms.

Katmandu Park a world of adventure

The park will be called Katmandu Park, it will open its doors in the fall of 2022, along with other projects that will consolidate the destination’s leadership in entertainment, gastronomy, and shopping tourism.

This project was announced by Meliá Hotels International and Falcon’s Beyond Global and at the same time they also explained an exhaustive plan for renovations and improvements at their Paradisus hotels in Punta Cana.

Falcon’s Beyond’s plan for this new entertainment destination is developed in two phases, one includes the development of the Katmandu Park Punta Cana park, which will carry the characters and the magical history of Kathmandu, a place of great children’s motivation in Europe.

The “Kathmandu experience” will include legendary attractions to the latest in entertainment, such as the world’s first “Suspended Theater”, it will also offer exciting adventures with which guests and visitors will immerse themselves in the universe of Kathmandu, transforming completely the entertainment offer of the Dominican Republic.

The second phase of the project will allow an expansion of the first one by adding an offer of entertainment, restaurants and top-level shopping, through the incorporation of large brands of international prestige in these sectors, and will be led by Falcon’s beyond.
