On the night of this Sunday, July 19, the head of the Ministry of Communication and Information, Jorge Rodríguez, reported that 45 workers on the state channel, Venezolana de Televisión, contracted the covid-19 coronavirus.
“Today we have detected that 45 brave and worthy VTV workers. Including his president, Freddy Ñáñez, have been positive for Covid 19.”
He indicated that an epidemiological sweep of the total plant personnel was being carried out.
“We will have, for everyone, the best medical and personal care,” added Rodríguez.
He added on twitter: “To you, who contracted the infection in strict compliance with your duty to inform the Venezuelan people, I send you a hug of gratitude and the certainty that beyond adversity, we will overcome.”
The head of state, Nicolás Maduro, along with members of the Presidential Commission for the Control and Prevention of Covid-19, had said that 396 cases of community transmission, 11 imported and one by contact with international travelers were detected in the last 24 hours by health authorities.
According to what was explained, Venezuela totals 11,891 infections.
