The Emergency Operations Center (COE) this Monday established a strict sanitary cordon that will cover about six blocks of the Alto Alberdi neighborhood in the city of Córdoba.

Juan Ledesma, coordinator of the COE, also stressed that in the last hours 202 cases have been detected in the province, a daily record.

The sanitary cordon is a temporary measure, which in this case is implemented as a result of 29 positive cases of Covid-19 (registered in the sector), with the aim of expanding the epidemiological investigation to prevent the transmission of the virus and protect the population.

The sanitary operation contemplates the follow-up of all the close contacts of the positive cases, through sampling. The active search for cases will be carried out using a combined strategy of test with PCR (swabs) and rapid test. While the epidemiological surveillance measure lasts, the maximum restriction of the movement of people in the neighborhoods is established.

In addition, one person per housing unit may go out at a time to look for food, medicine or essential supplies for supply purposes.

The objective is for the neighbor to be the main actor in this sanitary measure, taking into account that with strict compliance with the COE indications, the outbreak can be addressed in the shortest period of time.
